Just Like Jesus-I Corinthians 11:1

Just Like Jesus-I Corinthians 11:1

Hannah Hurnard is a favorite author of mine.I have read her book, «The Christian’s Secret to a Happy Life» several times.I didn’t know until reading the pa*sage from «Take My Heart, Oh God,» today, that she was a missionary or that she cleaned and did wash as part of her missionary tasks.Love is an action, not a feeling. How many times are we in situations where love is what the other people need and we feel resistant to giving it?To serve others, when no one is watching, is to be like Christ. We can only be like Him when we are submitted to, В listening to, and obeying the Holy Spirit that lives within us.We please God when our attitude of service isn’t about us, or what others think, but is about us doing what He is asking us to do.

In I Corinthians 11:1 Paul is telling us to follow his example as he follows Christ. How many of us would tell others to «follow me as I follow Christ?» Christ gave His wh*le self to save the world. But He didn’t just randomly give to everyone He met.He had a plan, and spent time alone with His Father each day to get His «orders for the day.» How often do we wait on God in the morning to hear what He has for us that day?We might be missing something that He really wants us to do, because we didn’t take the time to ask.

Ask Him right now to give you the name of someone He wants you to love, then ask Him HOW to love that person. He might not give you the obvious answer.

Take time right now to listen for His voice
